by THE OLBIOS TEAM

21,000 children die silently every day from preventable diseases.More than 1.3 billion people live below the extreme poverty line on less than $1.25 a day.As followers of Jesus, the founders of Life in Abundance think that it is time to push against the tide of disease, famine, illiteracy, extreme poverty and injustice. The organization is a faith-based, African-found organization that works with local churches to provide community development in the world’s poorest nations. Their goal is to come alongside local ministries to help identify community needs, and then provide for those needs in a long lasting and sustainable way. They work in over thirty communities throughout Africa and the Caribbean. One example of their initiatives is the Konjo Shoe project, which trains workers to make shoes and educates them in good business and finance practices. Change is achieved through LIA’s “transformational development approach” that requires community ownership and sustainable solutions. LIA, in partnership with local church and civic leadership to meet needs in the long-term.
