Christian earned his AB Legal Management degree from the University of the East in Manila. He is finishing his graduate studies, MA in Philippine Studies major in Development, at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. He served as President of UE’s highest study body, the University Student Council in 2013. He also participated as a Philippine delegate to the International Academy for Leadership: Strengthening Political Youth Organizations Program in Gummersbach, Germany. He is a young human rights advocate. He is the Founder and National Chairperson of the Philippine-based Youth for Human Rights and Democracy (Y4HRD). He worked as a Resource Development Officer in the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) which is a regional network of human rights organizations working on the issue of enforced or involuntary disappearance. He also provided support to AFAD’s function as the Focal Point of the International Coalition Against Enforced Disappearance (ICAED). Presently, he is the Policy Advocacy Officer of the Families of Victims of Involuntary Disappearance (FIND) where he works with lawmakers to ensure human rights legislation, particularly, the campaign for the enactment of the Human Rights Defenders Bill.
