OLBIOS CORRESPONDENT CAPE VERDE

I am President, Co-founder and Ecotourism Programme Coordinator. I have a degree in Eco-Agro tourism and Tourism Development from Universities in Cape Verde and Portugal. For more than 10 years I have managed a range of projects from mapping natural tourism resources in underdeveloped locations of Santiago Island to working with socially disadvantaged families. I was the leading coordinator of the program on community-based tourism development in the network of protected areas on the island of Maio and have delivered numerous workshops on sustainable tourism principles and trained tour guides. I am overseeing the overall work of our organisation, leading the Bela Vista community mobilization initiative, and developing strategies to boost community-based ecotourism on Santiago Island.
