CARL LIEDERMAN

Carl L. Liederman is a leading international corporate lawyer, executive, and the Founder & CEO of LIEDERSHIP. He has considerable experience in simplifying complexity, launching and scaling businesses and organizations, building teams and coalitions, as well as consensus building, stakeholder engagement, and innovative thought leadership.

During his 25-year legal career, Carl spent his formative years at Cleary Gottlieb, has practiced law in New York, Washington, D.C., Paris, Geneva, and London, and has led deals in over 70 countries across a wide variety of sectors and activities, including cross-border M&A, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, and board governance. Having worked and built smaller offices of global firms, Carl has developed a business-focused approach that combines strategic problem solving with fit-for-purpose execution and implementation. He is a generalist with deep specialist skills.

Carl also has founded charities, led charities, chaired charitable boards, and advised leading charities and foundations. He has served in many leadership and advisory positions throughout his career and serves on several boards and investment committees. Carl is a frequent speaker, panelist, and moderator at international conferences, industry gatherings, and family summits.

Carl is a member of the bars of New York and Washington, DC, and is a registered foreign lawyer in England & Wales. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Yale Journal of International Law, and his B.A. from Pomona College, summa cum laude, valedictorian. He is fluent in French and conversant in Italian, Spanish, and Greek. Carl was born in California and is a citizen of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
