L&rsquo;id\u00e9e de cr\u00e9er un organisme priv\u00e9 et ind\u00e9pendant qui contribuerait \u00e0 soutenir les activit\u00e9s de greffe d&rsquo;organes en France, dans le seul int\u00e9r\u00eat des patients transplant\u00e9s et en attente de greffe, s&rsquo;impose rapidement. C&rsquo;est ainsi que d\u00e9bute l&rsquo;histoire de la Fondation Greffe de Vie.  Le but de Greffe de vie est d&rsquo;\u0153uvrer en faveur du don d&rsquo;organe et de la greffe. Ses actions s&rsquo;articulent autour de 4 axes\u00a0: la sensibilisation du public sur le don d&rsquo;organes et la greffe\u00a0; le soutien \u00e0 l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 de pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement et de greffe\u00a0; le financement de la recherche m\u00e9dicale en transplantation\u00a0; l&rsquo;aide aux malades.  Greffe de Vie a cr\u00e9\u00e9 en outre un Passeport de Vie. Le Passeport de Vie est destin\u00e9 \u00e0 inciter et \u00e0 faciliter la d\u00e9marche du don d&rsquo;organe.
