Elle est install\u00e9e au Cameroun o\u00f9 fonctionnent actuellement 8 centres ophtalmologiques. De 1995 \u00e0 2013, ils sont \u00e9galement intervenus \u00e0 Madagascar, en Mauritanie et au Maroc. Les membres fondateurs sont tous des Rotariens. L&rsquo;organisation intervient essentiellement en zone rurale; leur activit\u00e9 consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9pister les malades, les soigner, les op\u00e9rer et \u00e0 leur fournir des lunettes. En 2012 d\u00e9j\u00e0, leur bilan chiffr\u00e9 recensait plus de 525.000 consultations,115.000 interventions chirurgicales dont 100.000 cataractes.  La formation et l&rsquo;enseignement constituent un second aspect de l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 d&rsquo;O.S.F. : depuis 1997, 32 m\u00e9decins et 185 infirmiers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9s aux soins de sant\u00e9 primaire en ophtalmologie, 6 m\u00e9decins et 11 infirmiers africains \u00e0 la chirurgie de l&rsquo;oeil. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, leurs centres fonctionnent avec le personnel infirmier form\u00e9, et notamment des infirmiers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s.
