Fond\u00e9e par Matthieu Ricard, la Fondation Karuna-Shechen met en oeuvre des projets humanitaires dans les secteurs de l’\u00e9ducation, de la sant\u00e9 et du d\u00e9veloppement durable pour les populations d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es en Inde, au N\u00e9pal et au Tibet. Fond\u00e9e par\u00a0Matthieu Ricard, elle porte une attention particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation des enfants, l\u2019autonomisation \u00e9conomique des femmes et des jeunes filles, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2018acc\u00e8s aux soins m\u00e9dicaux et autre services de premi\u00e8re n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 (acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019eau, l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 etc.) \u00a0dans les zones rurales et recul\u00e9es. Elle d\u00e9veloppe des programmes en\u00a0r\u00e9ponse aux besoins et aspirations sp\u00e9cifiques des communaut\u00e9s locales, dans le respect de leurs h\u00e9ritages culturels uniques. Depuis l\u2019an 2000, elle a\u00a0ainsi mis en oeuvre plus de 140 projets humanitaires gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un r\u00e9seau de collaborateurs recrut\u00e9s et form\u00e9s sur\u00a0place et de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles \u00e9trangers qualifi\u00e9s. En Inde et au N\u00e9pal, les cliniques m\u00e9dicales Shechen servent d\u00e9sormais de centre op\u00e9rationnel dans les pays o\u00f9 la Fondation g\u00e8re ses projets.
