MATTEO TRACCHI

Matteo is a PhD candidate in “Human Rights, Society and Multi-level Governance” at the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padova, Italy. His PhD research focuses on citizenship and human rights education in Italy and Croatia. Matteo holds a BA in International Relations and an MA in Human Rights from the University of Padova, Italy.  Prior to starting his PhD, Matteo worked for Amnesty International as Advocacy Assistant within the Global Human Rights Education Programme and as Individuals at Risk Campaigner on MENA, South Asia and South-East Asia, both posts based at the International Secretariat in London, UK. Matteo has extensive experience in conducting human rights research, as well as campaigning, policy, advocacy and capacity building activities with a variety of constituencies at local, national, regional and international level. He also worked in both formal and non-formal education settings with a focus on his main areas of interest, namely human rights education, education for democratic citizenship, children’s rights and youth participation.
