Taís Siqueira is a human rights lawyer and a researcher focused on democracy and citizen participation. Worked for the Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia of the Organization of the American States, where she monitored the citizen participation in the peace process and the social leaders at risk, as well as developed a project to strengthen the Afro-Colombian’ community councils. She worked for the Human Rights Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Goiás (Brazil) where she received delations of human rights violations and supported victims. Has a master in Human Rights and Democratisation from the European Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation based in Venice (Italy), which awarded her a scholarship. Conducted research on democracy from below and political participation of indigenous peoples in Mexico. Has been Electoral Observer, and volunteer at Amnesty International Morocco and at the Women and Development Movement Nigeria where she collected data for a research on slave labour based on Nigeria and the State of Goiás (Brazil) which awarded her the Scientific Initiation Scholarship awarded by the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás.
