Micheàl Aristeia-Aesir

OLBIOS CORRESPONDENT UNITED

As an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, Mícheál Áristeía-Æsír experienced home-insecurity, which propelled him into a half-decade, multi-disciplinary investigation of its cause and solutions. With fluency in Mandarin and a creative generalist mind, Mícheál has built an eighteen-year career in branding and business development within emerging markets. With over a decade in international, diverse training in cross-cultural mental health, psychology, anthropology, architecture, linguistics, and education, Mícheál has dedicated his entire life to the elimination of homelessness within our lifetime. He is the Founder and Director of Destinato Rigore, a 501c3 nonprofit that seeks to eliminate homelessness through impact investment and holistic person care. They’ve created a drop-kit sustainable micro-home shelter/Section 8 housing design that restores dignity to the homeless in under 200 square feet. Their micro-home is dual registered as a shelter, (placement on Industrial land), or as a Section 8 house (placement on Residential, church ‘manse’, ADU, RV land even carparks) which do not require building permits, public NIMBY hearings, or planning permission procedures. Their units are 100% sustainable, requiring zero hookups, and can be built and removed within 24 hours with no footprint. They believe our model has solved the biggest problem facing homelessness – the lack of available land.
