Simone Castello

Simone Castello was born in Italy and studied in Milan (Bocconi University) and in Dallas, TX (SMU) achieving his master degree in Economics for Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment. Since then he worked in the non-profit sector and in 2012 joined Lang Italia where he is in charge of all knowledge-sharing activities on effective philanthropic and social investment practices, specifically for what concerns the executive training courses; internal publications (PhilanthropyNewsletter; Philanthropy Insights); and events contents (as for the annual Lang Philanthropy Day).

His other area of activity involves philanthropy advisory activities for funders (mainly family foundations, corporate foundations, companies) and non-profit organizations. His areas of expertise include: advising businesses and corporate foundations to set up giving and community investment strategies; strategic planning sessions for foundations and charities and development of theory of change through a participatory process; set up of impact assessment analysis (ex-ante) and implementation (ex-post).

He is often involved in external trainings and seminars.
