Deniz Bagriacik /Bağrıaçık is a sociologist-writer and columnist at Harvard Business Review Turkey. She is originally from Istanbul however she defines herself as a world citizen after living in the most cosmopolitan and liberal cities such as Geneva, New York and Paris.She has a francophone study background starting at the age of 11 in Istanbul. She completed her BA on sociology at Galatasaray University then received her MA on Gender and Economics at the University of Geneva . She currently lives in Paris where she is preparing her Ph.D thesis on the field of sustainable development. Her area of interests are social and solidarity economy, poverty alleviation and gender.
Bagriacik Bağrıaçık has published more then 60 articles on gender, sustainability and sociology on various newspapers and magazines so far. Lastly she published a book “ Ask him/her if they liked us” from Yapı Kredi on June 2017. During her academic career, she continues to work on social-economic projects focusing on gender equality, the reduction of poverty and sustainability. She gives conferences on her area of interests in English, French and Turkish.
