OLBIOS CORRESPONDENT ITALY
Simone Sarcià was born in Siracusa, Italy. He studied Public Relations and then obtained an MA in International and European Organizations and Diplomatic Career from the University of Parma. He started his experience abroad in Belarus in 2004 with Amnesty International, then keeping the focus on the Balkans with OICS and UNV/UNDP. He managed teams and programme in different large scale emergencies: Landslides in Guatemala, Earthquake in Haiti, Refugees and Sahel Crisis in Tchad, LRA armed groups in Central African Republic, Syrian Refugees Crisis in Lebanon. During almost 3 years he worked in the private sector in Paris, before moving to Italy at the Cesvi Fondazione headquarters where he is Desk Officer for Albania, Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, Peru. In parallel, during the last 8 years, he contributed to the development of rural tourism and farming activity.
