Taiwo Bello works with the Canadian Red Cross as Emergency Response and Disaster Management Officer. He is the founder of SafeHealth Initiative, an organization that is committed to helping people living in poor communities across Nigeria fight cancer, especially girls and women, through community sensitization programs and distributions of free cancer-prevention kits. He is also the founder of ResearchLine for Africans, an initiative that distributes free learning and scholarship resources to Africans for the purpose of connecting them to world of opportunities beyond their environments. In addition, he is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of an international educational development firm, The Bookman Associates International, situated in the heart of Lagos State, Nigeria. In the past, Taiwo has worked with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), as a Gender and Climate Associate, Geneva, Switzerland. He had also worked as research assistant in different projects ranging from gender, climate change, natural resource management, conflict to security at the University of Saskatchewan. He holds a BA in History from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a dual MA in International History and Politics (IHP), and International History (IH) from the Graduate Institute and University of Geneva, Switzerland, and an MA in Political Studies with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He is currently a doctoral researcher at the University of Toronto, Canada where he is both a teaching fellow and Carmen Brock fellow. He also holds certificates in business and international organizations management from Columbia University, USA, the University of Virginia, USA, and the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Taiwo has participated in various conferences across the world, and has a number of research publications in prestigious journals on gender, conflict, security, migration, and climate change. He is a staunch believer in social change and has worked with different teams and organizations around the world to design and implement projects that have had a meaningful impact on the targeted groups.
