Ian Tarimo is a passionate youth leader with a diverse experience in leading positive changes in the community. He has more than 5 years experience of community development projects. Since 2013, he is the co-founder and Executive Director of Tai, an organization that aims at creating a society where youth are responsible social leaders in sustainable goals. Under his leadership, Tai has been able to grow from idea to an organization that has impacted over 10,000 young people either as volunteers or project beneficiaries. He is also a co-founder and director PSLA SACCOS LTD, an organization that aims at promoting youth empowerment through savings and providing loans.
Ian is a member of Global Shaper Community Dar Es Salaam Hub; a global youth-led organization under World Economic Forum. As a youth representative, Ian was a member of Department For International Development- Youth Advisory Panel (DFID – YAP), a panel that aims to ensure youth are at the center of development for all UKAID programs. He is an alumnus of YALI (Young African Leadership Initiative), a program established under USAID to empower young African leaders. Ian is currently serving on the Board of Coconut Foundation, an NGO which aims at improving children’s learning through national spelling bee competition. He is also a Board member of AIESEC IFM, an international organization that envisions peace and fulfillment of humankind potentials. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.
