Justyna’s academic background is in interdisciplinary studies on international relations. Starting from political science and human rights in Poland, she continued with her MA in Belgium at K.U.Leuven with European Studies: transnational and global perspectives and governance. Her favourite courses from the scholarship abroad were peace research and conflict management, strategy and global security studies, multilateral diplomacy and negotiation techniques or last but not least, development cooperation. She is now who she is thanks to experience gained as a coordinator of the AfriCO and Enter Your Future projects in AIESEC UW, co-founder of Model United Nations at K.U.Leuven, human rights and global education trainer in Europe or a manager of the development project on the women capacity building in Tanzania. Her professional experience varies from working in diplomacy to coordinate national parliamentary elections, cooperating with international organizations in Ethiopia as a trainer on conflict and violence for humanitarian workers from the South Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen and Somalia, through work as an analyst and strategic programs specialist in the National Center for Research and Development to communication and journalist works. Currently, she is dealing with multidimentional aspects of migration phenomena working in the Unit of European Migration Network and Combating Trafficking of Human Beings in the Ministry of Poland. She is also a migration expert of the European Migration Network of the European Commission and member of the CBSS Task Force against Trafficking in Human Beings. Recently she joined the Council of Europe as an expert on Children’s Rights in the CAHENF-Safeguards group. Justyna is interested to support and becoming involved in development, humanitarian, peace-making, awareness-widening social actions and compaings that aim to bind humankind, to teach each other empathy and mutual understanding. She still believes we need more Mahatmas Gandhi, we need more non-violent direct actions to stop a vicious circle of the world blindness and indifference to human suffering. She is also convinced that today’s “Gandhi”s are already waiting for us just to take action. Justyna loves to think about what seems unthinkable, however she needs other people to suit the action to the word.
