Maria Shirshova is a creative social conceptualist with experience in social awareness communication. Maria has produced creative campaigns for UNFPA Georgia, UN Women Georgia and NATO among others. She has received a number of awards for social advertising and her works have been exhibited in many countries worldwide. She is a co – founder and CMO of the “My sisters” social enterprise based in Georgia, Tbilisi, which was established to empower women – artisans from rural areas of Georgia and to connect them with global market. Also, she recently launched her own social enterprise, CREATECA and ART for RENT – online platform, which provides fine art rental services in Georgia. The project helps customers decorate spaces with art, while promoting and financially supporting young Georgian painters. As a social conceptualist, Maria cannot remain indifferent to complex global issues, particularly chauvinism, poverty, domestic violence and other forms of oppression and privilege. It is her goal to use creativity as a tool to build positive and meaningful social change.
