Teg Malla graduated with a Master in Social Sciences in Nonprofit Management from the University of Hong Kong in December 2017. Moreover, she has a postgraduate degree in Strategic Management and Leadership from the UK. She comes with over ten years of work and volunteering experience in the non-profit sector and has previously worked in public and private sectors as well. Teg is also an entrepreneur who has set up a fair trade and social enterprise in Asia and Europe promoting handicrafts made by low-income Nepalese women in the UK and Himalayan art in Belgium and Hong Kong. She was recognised as the youngest woman entrepreneur in Nepal and was awarded the best new business by the Prince’s of Wales Trust in West Scotland. Prior to Hong Kong, Teg worked for the Mayor of London and an humanitarian aid organisation where she was responsible for budget, EU grant facility project finance and human resources in Brussels. She also co-founded a non-profit organisation where she raised fund for a school in western Nepal. Her keen interest in issues such as corporate social responsibility and non-profit sustainability led her to research and write her capstone research paper on “Strategies towards a Sustainable Resource Mobilisation Model” for the Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF), a registered charity in Hong Kong (and the fundraising arm of NYF US) where she worked for over two years as their Executive Director raising funds for the 2015 Nepal Earthquake. She is passionate about volunteering, and making a difference, so she volunteers with several local charities in the local community.
