ANDRZEJ KOSTEK

Andrzej Kostek is a project coordinator and youth worker. For over ten years he has been affiliated with the NGO sector and the implementation of international projects in the area of youth, democracy development and promotion of civic engagement. From 2017 he works with CIVICUS Global Alliance for Citizens Participation, where he coordinated an International Civil Society Week, a flagship CIVICUS’ event bringing together over 700 Civil Society activists, academia and governmental representatives. Before Joining CIVICUS, Andrzej was affiliated with the Community for Democracies Permanent Secretariat, initially coordinating and managing the Community’s LEND (Leaders Engaged in New Democracies) Network and currently as head of the Unit of Logistics, Events and Procurement. Prior to that he worked as Volunteers Venue Operations Coordinator for the UEFA Euro2012 European football tournament in Poland and Ukraine (2012) and the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation (2007-2011), and as an independent expert on development of youth programmes and voluntary Service in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region for SALTO EECA and the European Commission (since 2010). He holds an MA in International Relations with a specialization in Eastern European Affairs. Andrzej is voluntarily engaged in the creation and management of the first democratic football club in Poland AKS Zły (Alternative football club Zly). He is passionate about traditional photography, sailing, hiking, running, social entrepreneurship. He speaks Polish, English and Russian.
