OLBIOS DIRECTOR GAMBIA
Cherno Yahya Jallow was born in Kombo, Gambia. He started volunteering with the Gambia Red Cross Society at the age of 13. After completing high school, he joined Muslim Hands International, a charity organization dedicated to alleviate poverty through community empowerment. He worked in different departments of the organization, serving as Social Welfare Officer, Fundraising Officer, Finance and Administrative Officer and Secretary to the Management. During this period he worked in Mali, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau. In 2008 and in collaboration with a friend and other dynamic young people, he founded Youths in Aid. Since 2012 he has been serving as the Director of World Faith Gambia an international NGO that engages religiously diverse youth to lead development projects in their countries. Cherno also served as an observer at the National Youth Parliament, was a member of the Youth Ambassadors of Peace, and worked as a field officer in the West African Network of Peace. He holds a BA in Development Studies and has completed several professional trainings.
