The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy (NCPTUP) hopes to prevent unplanned pregnancy and teen pregnancy largely through educational campaigns. They work with a variety of community groups to help promote responsible behavior among both women and men through educational materials, working with community leaders to support policies, reaching out directly to young people, among other things. Since its beginning, teen pregnancy rates have declined by 40 percent. Their mission is to improve the lives and future prospects of children and families and, in particular, to help ensure that children are born into stable, two-parent families who are committed to and ready for the demanding task of raising the next generation. They support a combination of responsible behavior by both men and women and responsible policies in both the public and private sectors. When they are successful, child and family wellbeing will improve. There will be less poverty, more opportunities for young men and women to complete their education or achieve other life goals, fewer abortions, and a stronger nation.
