The International Values Education Trust was founded by Neil Hawkes in 2008, founded on the achievements of Values-based practice in schools. The Trust was established to further this work in the UK and internationally, both in schools and beyond. IVET is independent, non profit-making, non-political, has no religious affiliation and is not aligned to any business or corporate organisation. The Trust’s Patrons are all eminent and highly respected educators. The Trust has been established in order to promote a new understanding and framework to help students achieve positive and purposeful lives for themselves and their communities through engaging with values to guide and inform their behaviour. This approach offers a new way of thinking about education and how children and young people can be supported to develop to become successful and happy members of society. The Trust has been established from the foundation of successful school practice in values education. Its aim is to further develop and promote this work both nationally and globally in education and in the wider context of society.
