The Millennium Project is an independent international think tank with 40 “nodes” around the world that gather and access information on futures studies. They produce the annual State of the Future report.
The Futures Group International, the Smithsonian Institution, the United Nations University, and the American Council for the UNU formed the project. Since the beginning of operations in 1996, nearly 5,000 futurists, scholars, decision-makers, and business planners from over fifty countries have contributed with their views to the Millennium Project research.
The Project now has “Nodes” in about fifty countries, including two others that are global nodes: Cyber Node and the Arts/Media Node. Nodes are independent organizations that co-operate with each other and the Project to provide an international perspective on futures research.
