Children’s Town is a DAPP (Development Aid from People to People) Zambia project which provides primary education and some life skills training to the former street children. The objectives of the project is provide a home, rehabilitation, and psychological counseling to the children who has been swept aside by society due to loss of either parents, family support and other social vices.
Run with support from Firelight Foundation, The Beit Trust, Croc Shoes, American Jewish World Service, Development Aid from People to People in the United Kingdom, Ministry of Community Development and Social Services and the ministry of education, the project runs a vocational training centre that caters for 80 former street youths and runs a community school with 360 orphans and vulnerable children from the surrounding villages in Malambanyama in Chibombo District.
